Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a linear polymer with the chemical formula (C3H5NO)n, known for its water solubility and excellent thermal stability. At room temperature, polyacrylamide exists as a hard, glassy solid and can be found in forms such as gel solution, latex, white powder particles, translucent beads, and flakes. Its aqueous solution is a uniform, transparent liquid. Over time, the viscosity of the solution decreases due to the slow degradation of the polymer, particularly under poor storage and transportation conditions.
